5) Interview Partner
Instructions:
In this exercise, you will pair up with a classmate and take turns interviewing each other to learn more about one another. Follow the steps below:
Step 1: Pair Up
Find a partner within the class.
Step 2: Interview Your Partner
Decide who will be “Interviewer” and who will be “Interviewee” for the first round. The Interviewer will ask questions, and the Interviewee will answer.
Step 3: Choose Questions
You can use the list of questions provided below or create your own. Feel free to add more questions to make the conversation interesting. Here’s an example:
- What’s your name?
- Where are you from?
- How old are you?
- What’s your favorite food?
- Do you have any siblings?
Step 4: Take Notes
The Interviewer should take notes about the Interviewee’s responses. Write down interesting facts or details you learn about your partner.
Step 5: Switch Roles
After one round of interviewing, switch roles. The Interviewer becomes the Interviewee, and vice versa.
Step 6: Introduce Your Partner
Each student should introduce their partner to the class based on the information they learned during the interview. Be prepared to share a few interesting things about your partner.
Example:
Imagine you are the Interviewer.
You: “Hi, I’m Interviewing my partner, John. John is from Boston, and he’s 25 years old. His favorite food is pizza, and he has two sisters. It was really nice learning more about him.”
Remember to be respectful and attentive during the interviews, and have fun getting to know your classmates better!
