In this lesson, we’ll learn about different types of clothing and how to ask and answer the question “What are you wearing?”. This vocabulary will help you have basic conversations about clothing choices.

Clothing Vocabulary:

Asking the Question:

Characters:

Scene: Lisa and Tom are siblings getting ready for school in the morning.

Lisa: (looking at her closet) Tom, I can’t decide what to wear today.

Tom: (helpful) Don’t worry, Lisa. Let me see. How about wearing a blue dress?

Lisa: (considering) Hmm, that’s a good idea. What about shoes?

Tom: (pointing) You can wear your white sneakers. They match the dress.

Lisa: (happy) Great, thanks, Tom. Now, what are you going to wear?

Tom: (looking at his clothes) I’ll wear my green T-shirt and jeans.

Lisa: (helpful) You could also put on your red cap. It’s in the hallway.
